Dating is tough especially now…
… with the hundreds of dating apps that don’t enable real connection. After I left my 14-year marriage, I took some time to spend with God and to pick my kids up off the floor. I began re-building and opening up to love again. Even if you’ve never been through a break-up, separation or divorce, dating is still tough. The process of getting to know someone through 10,000 dates, exposing your fears, sensitivities, hopes and dreams to a stranger is a lot. Will he or she use your vulnerability against you?, will they stay longer enough to get to know you?, will they contribute to the relationship equally? You may even question if you should even date because you don’t know if it is actually possible to have that bond, that beautiful life you once dreamed of. Instead, the devil sends you slicksters and immature people that I refer to as “Delilah” and “Big Boi” that only offer an ocean of confusion and pain that you wish would just fly away. Trust God to send a partner that honors Him and you. Know that God can break mental and sexual soul ties that draw you farther from Him. As a single person, use this precious time to strengthen your time with Him, studying His Word and enjoying all the simple things. God will give you discernment to see imposters and cover you by shedding light on who you should love, trust, and build with.
“But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently. In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.”
“But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at.”
“They are the kind who worm their way into homes and gain control over gullible women, who are loaded down with sins and are swayed by all kinds of evil desires, always learning but never able to come to a knowledge of the truth.”
“Wisdom will save you from the ways of wicked men, from men whose words are perverse, who have left the straight paths to walk in dark ways, who delight in doing wrong.”
Have you ever trusted God to end a romantic connection or relationship?
Do you have faith that He will send you a spouse or life partner?
